Ask a Ginger: Let’s Talk Fashion
Our mantra this season is dress with intention. Strategize mindfully by assessing what you already have in your closet and enjoy wearing. For example, if you are looking for a jacket that you’ll wear many times for several seasons choose something that wears well. Good fabrics and quality craftsmanship matter.
What are our favourite colours this season?
Autumnal colours are always a classic choice this time of year. Find a few you like and pair them with some of your neutral pieces. Burgundy, shades of blue and bold colour accents are a few on-trend colours.

The classic argyle sweater gets a modern update when paired with a barrel-leg vegan leather pant. The relaxed silhouette and subtle shine of the pant give this traditional pattern a contemporary edge.

And don’t overlook the beauty of autumnal colour with a touch of purple. Rich seasonal shades take on a fresh, modern feel when paired with this unexpected pop of colour.

The Birkenstock Bend Low sneaker is practical and comfortable footwear to wear. We have a selection of colours to choose from.
A neutral colour pallette is a little quieter and might be just what you're looking for.

A Oui knit sweater paired with a lined skirt is a timeless combination. Add your favourite boots and you’re ready for whatever the day brings.
Our thoughts regarding footwear?
Always choose comfort. Footwear is such an important decision and you should try all your options before making a decision. Most footwear is less chunky and more of a low-profile look this year.

The Gabor sneaker almost looks like a retro style from the early to mid-2000’s.

We also love the earthy brown colour Gabor sneaker that can be an ever day wear.
What items in your closet can be restyled?
Do you love your denim from previous seasons but want to refresh and style a few new looks this season? New knits are here and looking super gorgeous. The knitwear options include wool, merino wool, alpaca, mohair, cashmere, cotton, and artificial fibres.
We think you should never feel pressured to conform to fashion trends. We want you to be unapologetically you. When you enter our doors feel free to enjoy browsing and asking questions. We are always happy to welcome you and share fashion advice.

Canadian collections have arrived, and we’re loving the combination of stripes and floral textures. It’s a fresh take on pattern mixing that feels playful and perfectly suited to the season.
Is there a trend we are loving?
Scarves are a trend we haven’t seen much of over the last several seasons but they’re back.
Most of the scarves are a little smaller so you can wear them without fussing with too much bulk. The triangle scarves are both functional and add a finishing touch to your outfits.

The triangle scarf is on-trend. This scarf is less bulky and can be styles several ways.

Soft cashmere scarves are dreamy to wear this season.
What are some noteworthy considerations when getting dressed?
Fabrics with texture always feel especially beautiful in autumn and winter. Think a fuzzy jacket, cozy cable-knit sweater, classic corduroy pants, supple leather jacket or silky blouse. Don’t be afraid to mix textures by combining different fabrics.

Soft textures such as cashmere and fur are stunning! Wear this poncho to elevate your favourite denim or dress it up with a skirt for a dressier look.

For something unexpected, pair a skirt or dress with an oversized leather bomber jacket. The contrast between feminine and relaxed creates a modern, effortless look. Finish it with tall boots or sporty Blundstones.
