Forty-one years ago, Donita, an avid outdoors enthusiast and the Ginger Laurier proprietress, discovered how fabulous the Birkenstock footwear is. It was love at first sight! After securing the selling rights in Canada, Donita began a business selling Birkenstock sandals from her home and later opened her first retail store in Okotoks in 2001.
